At IBC this year, the EBU will be demonstrating one of the first multi-vendor and end-to-end C2PA workflows on its stand (10.D21). The demonstration spans all steps from content capture to playout, showcasing what such workflows may look like, what improvements could be made, and which gaps remain. The showcase was built together with partners BBC, WDR, Adobe, Truepic, G&L and netTrek.

C2PA technology has gained significant support in the industry as a promising way for audiences to gauge the trustworthiness of content, for media outlets to differentiate their content and services, and for society to tackle the issue of fake content in the public sphere.

However, for the associated “CR” (Content Credentials) icon to become a common sight on images, video, and other media content, many details remain to be addressed. The EBU and its expert communities are studying use-cases and likely scenarios for the use of technologies such as C2PA.

Meet the innovators: industry leaders to present at C2PA meetup

Beyond the demo, EBU is organizing a dedicated meetup for stakeholders and interested parties, on Saturday at 14:00 on the EBU stand 10.D21, offering an opportunity to engage directly with the experts driving this initiative.

As part of the meetup, the following speakers will be offering interventions: Judy Parnall (BBC), Kenneth Warmuth (WDR), Go Ohtake (NHK), Andy Parsons (Adobe), Nick Brown (Truepic) and Igor Sedov (G&L).

The C2PA technology demo and meetup on the EBU stand at IBC represent an excellent opportunity to understand the current status of the technology and discuss what needs to happen so the media technology industry can deliver not only a robust standard, but also the practical solutions for digital content authenticity services.
