The EBU has opened its developers blog for contributions by its Members. The idea is to encourage any Member to share experiences in software development. The change from an EBU projects-only to a Members blog fits with the EBU's increased focus on sharing best practices in software development.
Valuable information
To make sharing coding practices even more attractive, the EBU will award blog item contributors with a discount to attend this years EBU Developers Conference. A similar reward is given to any Member adding a relevant open source project to the 'Awesome Broadcasting' list or for commits made to projects on EBU.IO.
More sharing
In the last two years the EBU's Technology & Innovation department has seen a steady increase in the number of media projects that expose code on github or the EBU hosted git.ebu.io platform. Typical use of the repositories is for developing shared demonstrations or reference code and for for specification development.
