Each year, the EBU Technology & Innovation team organizes its BroadThinking event in March. Participants from around the globe meet in Geneva to discuss topics related to when broadcast meets broadband. The theme for this year’s event stems from the anticipated release of HbbTV V2.
With the introduction of a new version of this popular standard on the horizon, participants will have the opportunity to look in more depth at providing audiences access to on demand services related to a broadcast channel using  HbbTV enabled connected televisions.  
 
Highlights of the event will be: sharing best practices on current HbbTV deployments in different countries and detailed information about new functionalities like the synchronisation of connected devices, live and on demand DASH support and HTML5 user interfaces.

The event will take place 18-19 March and targets technology specialists and managers interested in HbbTV. Besides presentations and discussions, participants can visit demonstrations and interact with specialists responsible for successful HbbTV deployments in different countries.
 
This year's event is set to cover more topics than ever before and a full house is expected for the two days of presentations, use cases, technology updates and demonstrations. Early Bird discounts are available to those who register before midnight on 15 February.
