A broadcast architecture based on SDI is limited by the hardware that is acquired, broadcasters need to invest for the largest production because scaling is hard. To benefit from IP networks and ha r dware virtualization EMG has created an IP based architecture for live broadcast based on SMPTE ST 2110. The resulting architecture provides a redundant (red blue) mesh IP network for maximum reliability.
