The EBU workshop on mobile broadband technologies took place on 12 May 2011 in Geneva.
Mobile broadband technologies such as HSPA and LTE enable high-speed Internet access from portable and mobile devices (e.g. PSs, smartphones and tablet computers). These technologies are increasingly capable of delivering media services which potentially creates new opportunities for broadcasters.
This workshop was an opportunity to explore the potential of mobile broadband technologies to deliver broadcasting services and to discuss broadcasters' requirements.
The main objective was to identify those issue where further involvement of the EBU technical community is required.
