Jonathan Stott (BBC)

    
         

Jonathan studied Engineering and Electrical Sciences at Churchill College, Cambridge. After graduating with Distinction he joined BBC Research Department (later BBC R&D) where he spent his working life mostly on the application of digital techniques to broadcasting.

 

He made particular contributions to the development of the DVB-T, DRM and DVB-T2 standards for digital broadcasting. While working on the development of Digital Radio Mondiale he also came into contact with the issue of the threat posed to its reception by PLT, which has since mushroomed into a more general threat to all types of radio broadcasting. Since retirement from the BBC, Jonathan is a consultant. He represents the BBC on EBU EIC-ECS which he chairs.
