How can EBU Members survive Broadband and Mobiles?
The technology for DVB-H and DMB are finalised. The development of an open standard for IPTV is well underway in the DVB Project, supported by the EBU. EBU Members need now to understand the economics and content dimensions of these new systems. The two-day meeting was attended by about 80 managers from EBU Members with the objective of sharing view and experiences in broadband and services to mobiles.

Challenges
One of the critical issues for public service broadcasters is the extent to which their public service objectives are served by the new platforms, and whether their regulatory frameworks allow them to do so. Equally, the use of these technologies usually means cooperative agreements with network operators. There are many complex challenges ahead.
